Saracens Women 24 - 20 Harlequins Ladies

Saracens Women went on to win the inaugural edition of the Tyrrells Premier 15s as they defeated Harlequins Ladies 24-20 in the final at Trailfinders Sports Ground.

Saracens got their first points on the board in the first five minutes when Sam Martinez Gion touched down riding on an offload from Hannah Botterman before Harlequins responded back with a penalty goal from Ellie Green. With possession on their side, Saracens increased their lead further with their second try coming from Charlotte Clapp before Garnet Mackinder dotted down their third.

Holly Myers at the stroke of half-time brought down the trail to 17-8 with a try and their momentum continued after the break as well when Jess Breach went past the line for the 17th time this season. Botterman's second provided Saracens a breathing space but once again Harlequins fought back and managed to keep the gap down to four points with 10 minutes to go.

Despite, Poppy Cleall sin-binned in the closing stage, Saracens managed to hold their defence tight and completed a thrilling victory and more importantly went on to clinch the title.

Saracens skipper Clapp was extremely pleased over the victory.

"I'm over the moon. I can't explain it. That last 30 seconds my feelings were all over the place. I'm so proud of everyone.

"It just kept going back and forth. Harlequins kept getting the momentum and we just had to stick to it and empty the tank.

"It's so nice when you're doing things on the training ground and you pull it off but it was a whole team effort".
