However, they were tested by Wasps, who missed out on their first win this season by just four points. Rachel Lund got Gloucester off the mark but the visitors bounced back with a try of her own by Sarah Mitchelson.

After Hari McCormack and Mitchelson exchanged tries, Gloucester got their lead back through tries from Kelly Smith and Ceri Large. Even though Wasps bounced through two late tries, Gloucester managed to held their nerve in a tight finish.

Standings: Gloucester currently top the table while Wasps are positioned seventh.

Breach got the Quins off the mark with an early try that set the tone for the rest of the game and 11 minutes later, she went past the line for the second time. Even though Firwood Waterloo Ladies made a brief comeback with a touchdown from Bethany Scott, Breach ensured the home side had the momentum with her third try.

Leanne Riley and Holly Myers also crossed as the hosts built a large lead, but Waterloo battled to the end and scored a late try from Dani Wiseman.

Standings: Harlequins are at second in the table with two wins from as many games while Firwood Waterloo Ladies are at eighth and are yet to win a game in the tournament.
