Western Force have confirmed that head coach Tim Sampson has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

Sampson joined the club in 2018 and helped them clinch the National Rugby Championship in 2019. The 2020 season saw him guide the club in the Super Rugby AU competition following the outbreak of Covid-19, even though the club did not manage to win a single game from 10 matches.

“These are very special and exciting times to be involved with the club,” he told the official website of the club.

“There is a lot of momentum not only within the Western Force, but also generally throughout Western Australian rugby, and I am delighted to be involved in witnessing it first-hand grow from strength to strength.

“We currently have a wonderful team throughout the entire organisation who are all motivated and passionate about what we do and who we represent. The club has been fantastic to me and my family, which I am so grateful for.”

He has also coached the Force in Global Rapid Rugby and World Series Rugby along with NRC and Super Rugby AU and has worked with Easts Tigers, Tuggeranong Vikings and Canberra Vikings in the past.
