Worcester Warriors have announced that lock Anton Bresler has been released from his contract with immediate effect.

Bresler now will join French club Racing 92 and is set to be available for their upcoming game against Castres on Saturday.

The 33-year-old started his career with Edinburgh in 2014 and made a switch to Worcester Warriors in 2017 making 64 appearances for them since then with his 50th game for the club coming in August last year.

He sustained a foot injury at the end of last season which required surgery and ruled him out for the first two months of this season.

“It is fantastic for Bressie, at this point in his career, to have been given the opportunity to experience playing in France,” said Warriors Director of Rugby Alan Solomons.

“I have worked with Bressie both at Edinburgh and here at Worcester. He is one of the finest men I have come across in rugby. He is not only a very good player, but an exceptional team man, who adds value wherever he goes. That has certainly been the case here at Worcester.

“I will miss him, but at the same time am really pleased that he has been given this opportunity. All of us here at Warriors wish him well in his new venture and he will always be welcome here at Sixways.”

Worcester Warriors are positioned 12th in the Gallagher Premiership table after managing two wins from nine matches.
