Worcester Warriors have strengthened their back row ahead of the upcoming Champ Rugby season with the signing of Kofi Cripps.
The 23-year-old has secured a permanent move to Sixways after impressing during several weeks on trial with the club.
Kofi Cripps Joins Worcester Warriors
Cripps began his career with Wasps, where he previously worked under current Worcester head coach Matt Everard.
The back-row forward also represented England Under-20s during the 2022 U20 Six Nations before his time at Wasps ended following the club’s administration.
Cripps subsequently joined Bristol-based Clifton RFC before moving to Bristol Bears ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Cripps Brings Premiership Experience
During his spell with Bristol, Cripps progressed to senior Premiership rugby and made his league debut against Newcastle Red Bulls last season.
His performances during his recent Worcester trial have now earned him a permanent contract as the Warriors continue preparations for the new Champ Rugby campaign.
Cripps said the ambition surrounding Worcester made it an exciting time to join the club, while his previous relationship with Everard also played an important part in his decision.
"I’m really excited to be joining Worcester and starting a new chapter in my career. From everything I’ve seen and heard, there’s a lot of ambition around the club and it feels like a really exciting time to be coming in."
"Having worked with Matt before was a big part of the decision for me. I know the standards he sets and I feel he understands me as a player and knows how to get the best out of my game".
Matt Everard Welcomes Cripps Signing
Everard said Cripps had impressed both on and off the field during his time training with Worcester.
We are extremely excited to welcome Kofi to the club.
"He’s really impressed everyone at the club across the last few weeks. How he is as a person off the field and his efforts on the field.
"Kofi brings experience at the top level and his skill and talent in both attack and defence is really exciting.”
