Worcester Warriors Women have announced the signing of Scotland international Lisa Cockburn from DMP Durham Sharks with immediate effect.

The 28-year-old will be available for selection in the lead up to Christmas bolstering the front-row options.

“I’m really excited to be joining Worcester Warriors,” said Cockburn to the club's official website.

“It’s hard to leave a club I’ve been at for eight years, but I’m ready for the next step in my rugby career at this fantastic club.”

Cockburn made her Scotland debut against Italy in the 2018 Women's Six Nations Championship and scored her first try during the game against Japan in 2019. Overall, she has featured in 22 Tests for the national side and has been part of Sharks since 2014.

“We are really excited to have Lisa join us,” said Jo Yapp, Warriors Women’s Director of Rugby.

“Her international experience will add to an already very competitive front-row and I’m looking forward to seeing her in action.”
