Ireland 28-19 Argentina, Aviva Stadium
Scorecard

Winger Jacob Stockdale scored a try apiece on either half as Ireland resisted late fightback from Argentina with a 28-19 win to complete a clean sweep in the autumn internationals at Aviva Stadium on Friday.

British and Irish Lions star Johnny Sexton kicked two penalties in the first 13 minutes to help Ireland to a six point lead which soon became 13-0 when Stockdale went past the line after brilliance from Chris Farrell and Sexton.

Argentina struggled in the first half as they failed to score a single point and that proved too costly for them in the game as their heroics in the second half went inadequate.

The start of the second half saw Sexton set up Stockdale's second try and with the conversion from the fly-half spot on, Joe Schmidt's side increased their lead to 20-0.

Argentina finally showed some respite as Joaquin Tuculet ran into Nicholas Sanchez grubber to reduce the gap to 13 points but Ireland's third try that came from CJ Stander restored 18 point lead for Ireland.

The Pumas showed late fight with tries from Juan Manuel Leguizamon and Ramiro Moyano Joya in the 70th and 80th minute but their efforts proved in vain as they succumbed to a nine point defeat.
