Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi has made four changes for Saturday’s second Test against Australia in Mendoza, with Santiago Carreras returning to fullback as Los Pumas look to end a three-match losing streak.

Carreras started at fly-half in Argentina’s 27-21 defeat to the Wallabies in San Salvador de Jujuy last weekend but will move back to the No.15 jersey for the rematch.

Geronimo Prisciantelli drops out of the matchday squad, with Nicolas Roger taking over at fly-half. Simon Benitez Cruz continues at scrum-half, while Rodrigo Isgro and Ignacio Mendy start on the wings.

Argentina will be looking for a sharper start after conceding two early tries during their defeat in the opening Test.

Felipe Contepomi reshuffles Pumas forward pack

Contepomi has made significant adjustments among the forwards, with Efrain Elias and Franco Molina forming a new second-row partnership.

Veteran lock Tomas Lavanini moves to the replacements bench, while Guido Petti switches from lock to flanker in place of Benjamin Grondona.

Pablo Matera will captain the side from blindside flanker, with Joaquin Moro completing the back row at No.8.

Pedro Delgado has also been promoted at tighthead prop ahead of Francisco Moreno and will join Ignacio Ruiz and Boris Wenger in the front row.

Argentina name two potential Test debutants

Contepomi has included Facundo Cardozo and Mateo Soler among the replacements, with both players in line to make their Test debuts if introduced.

Argentina enter the Mendoza contest attempting to level the two-match series following Australia’s victory last weekend.

The Wallabies, meanwhile, arrive seeking a fifth consecutive Test win as Los Pumas attempt to respond on home soil.
