Scorecard

Saracens have maintained their unbeaten streak at home since March after outplaying Leicester Tigers by 24-10 in their Aviva Premiership encounter at Allianz Park on Saturday.

Wing Chris Wyles scored the opening try in the game for the Sarries in the seventh minute and a minute later their star fly-half Owen Farrell added the conversion.

Leicester Tigers fly-half Owen Williams and his counterpart Farrell exchanged penalties to let the score unaffected but Scotland wing Sean Maitland strolled across the post and Farrell's penalty ensured Saracens went into half time with a 14-point lead.

Number eight Billy Vunipola extended Saracens dominance into the second half, as he rumbled past the line to score the third try of the game.

Mako Vunipola was sin-binned in the 62nd minute for performing a shoulder tackle on Leicester Tigers replacement Freddie Burns which was capitalised by George Catchpole, who scored the opening try for the visitors in the game. Williams' conversion took Richard Cockerill's men to 10 points but the defending champions held firm and ensured a 14-point win for Saracens.

Saracens have consolidated their position at the top with their sixth win of the season from seven games while Leicester Tigers are placed at fourth.

Saracens rugby director Mark McCall rued on his team's failure to secure the bonus point.

"It was massively frustrating the bonus points didn't come," director of rugby McCall said.

"In the first half we showed some really good signs about how good we can be and the standards we want to achieve.

"We attacked really well. We made a couple of errors along the way, but they were forced by Leicester's defence.

"The half-time score of 17-3 was about right, but when we got to 24-3 we were really sloppy. We had the ball for 15 minutes but did our own thing when the job wasn't done.

"It's a big lesson for us because we didn't get the job done that we wanted to. We spent the last 15-20 minutes defending which is not what we wanted to do.

"We should have got five points and it's frustrating that we didn't."
