Saracens continued their winning streak with another fine performance to defeat Scarlets 44-26 in their European Champions Cup clash on Saturday at Allianz Park.

Even though Scarlets fly-half Rhys Patchell scored four penalties in the first half, Mako Vunipola (10'), Nick Tomkins (25') crossed over for Saracens while fly-half Owen Farrell added the conversions and to top of it scored two more penalties to take the defending champions to an eight-point lead in the first half.

The game had a nervous moment when Saracens star Maro Itoje injured his right hand and was replaced in the 46th minute. He will now undergo scans to know the extent of the injury.

Saracens went on to secure the bonus point with their second half tries which came from Marcelo Bosch (46'), Chris Wyles (53') and Mike Rhodes (74'). Farrell too looked in good nick as he added nine more points in the final 40 minutes.

Even though, Scarlets flanker Aaron Shingler (59') and Jonathan Davies (72') scored tries in the second half, they eventually succumbed to a 44-26 defeat. Davies' try came at the aftermath of Ben Spencers' yellow card in the 68th minute.

The win has taken Saracens to the top of Pool 3 with nine points from two games while Scarlets are placed third. Round three will Saracens taking on Sale Sharks while Scarlets will lock horns with Toulon.
