Munster trounce Dragons with a 49-6 triumph

Munster 49 - 6 Dragons, Cork

Munster came up with a seven-try performance as they went on to trounce Dragons 49-6 in their Pro 14 encounter in Cork on Friday.

After the first quarter went without a point, centre Rory Scannell (21') went past the line with JJ Hanrahan slotting the conversion while Munster's prolific try-scorer Simon Zebo (28') also contributed with a try as the home side doubled their points.

Dragons' only response came through Angus O'Brien, who slotted two penalties as Dragons went into half time trailing by 14-6.

The onslaught from Munster continued in the second half as well with Jack O'Donoghue (47'), Darren Sweetnam (57'), Sam Arnold (63' and 77') and Kevin O'Byrne (69') also scoring tries while Hanrahan added extras on all the five occasions while Dragons failed to add any point in the second half.

The 43 point victory is Munster's fifth this season as they are positioned at second in Conference A while Dragons are at sixth place in Conference B.
