Bristol Bears have confirmed that prop Max Lahiff has signed a contract extension, committing his future to the club as he prepares for an eighth season in Bear Country.
Max Lahiff Bristol Bears Contract Extension
Lahiff has made 122 appearances for Bristol since joining in 2019, establishing himself as a key figure in the squad. The 35-year-old front-rower, capable of playing at both tighthead and loosehead, has surpassed 150 appearances in the Prem across his career.
His consistent performances were recently recognised with inclusion in England’s training squad ahead of a Six Nations fixture, underlining his continued impact at domestic level.
“I’m proud to be extending my time here. Bristol has been an incredible place for me both personally and professionally, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to keep pulling on this jersey," he told the club's official website.
“I feel there’s still plenty to achieve here, and I’m excited to be part of the next chapter with this group of players.”
Bristol Bears director of rugby Pat Lam expressed delight with Lahiff extending his stay at the club.
“Max has delivered outstanding rugby for us over the past eight years and fully deserves his status as a Bears centurion.
“His versatility at both tighthead and loosehead is an enormous asset, particularly within a small squad, and his experience plays a vital role in the development of our younger front-row players.
“What I love most about Max is his growth mindset – both as a player and as a person. The depth of his understanding of the game, the way he approaches it, and the evolution of his skill set are markedly different from when he first arrived eight years ago."
