Experienced Argentina international Matías Moroni has rejoined Bristol Bears on a contract running until the end of the 2026/27 season.
The versatile back, who can play at centre or on the wing, returns to the club after a short initial spell earlier this season.
Moroni brings vast experience to Bristol, having earned 95 Test caps for Argentina. He was part of the Pumas side that defeated the British and Irish Lions in Dublin and also featured during a successful international campaign in which Argentina won three of their four Autumn Test matches.
At club level, Moroni was a member of the Leicester Tigers squad that lifted the Gallagher PREM title in 2022.
The 32-year-old initially joined Bristol on a short-term arrangement in October and made an immediate impact, prompting the club to move quickly to secure his services on a longer deal. He returns ahead of Bristol’s Premiership Round Eight fixture against Harlequins at Twickenham.
Moroni said he was excited to return after being impressed by the club’s environment, facilities, coaching staff and squad during his initial stay.
“I’m really happy and excited to have returned to the Bears. I was obviously here a few months ago to play two games – but in that time, I saw the environment of the club, the facilities, the boys, the coaches and I knew it was the right decision for me to come back here.
“It’s a club with a lot of expectation and ambition and I’m really excited for what is to come here at Bristol.”
