Hurricanes lock Vaea Fifita's double tries in the second-half enabled the Wellington side to overcome a seven-point first-half deficit and secure a 37-27 win over the Blues during the Super Rugby clash on Saturday.

The visitors looked completely in command after flanker Jerome Kaino's (18', 23') dual strikes and fellow flanker Kara Pryor's (10') opening try put them ahead at the end of the first-half.

Hurricanes prop Reg Goodes (15') and hooker Dane Coles (21') showed praised worthy efforts to score a try each in the first-half.

However, the home side raised their game in the second-half to gather an impressive 20-point haul as the visitors managed to score a penalty alone.

Hurricanes fly-half Beauden Barrett was exceptionally on point with his kicking game as he successfully slotted all four conversions along with three penalties.

The win has poised the Hurricanes third in the New Zealand Conference with 44 points, whereas, Chiefs are at the top of the table with 46 points with Crusaders securing the second place with 45 points.
