Blues 40-15 Brumbies, Eden Park
Scorecard

Riding on double tries from Jerome Kaino and Matt Duffie, Blues have dented a severe blow to Brumbies' hopes of making into the finals after crushing them 40-15 at Eden Park on Friday.

The result means Blues now will be dependent on Waratahs to lose their remaining two games in order to make it to the play-offs.

In case Waratahs manage to beat Hurricanes next with a bonus point, it will be a daunting task for Brumbies to go past their arch rivals. However, if the Waratahs lose their next encounter, it will set for an exciting final round of games.

With four converted tries in the first half from Kaino (3'), hooker James Parsons (6'), prop Sam Prattley (16') and wing Duffie (20'), the Blues managed to get a 28-15 lead at the end of the first half.

The Blues onslaught continued in the second half where Kaino and Duffie scored their second tries in the game, completing a 40-15 victory as the Brumbies failed to add any more point to their tally from the first 40 minutes.

Despite, the resounding victory, the Blues are placed seventh in the Australasian group while the Brumbies top the Australian group with 39 points from 14 games with Waratahs behind them in the second position.
