Late tries by Billy Guyton and Tevita Li helped Blues secure a 34-18 bonus-point win against Kings in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

Kings who are still searching for their second Super Rugby victory of the ongoing season were pretty much in the hunt until the 68th minute with a deficit of barely four points.

Guyton scored the crucial 69th minute try followed by Ihaia West's successful conversion extending the Blues lead to 11 points. Li sealed the victory and secured the bonus-point for Blues by scoring a try in the 84th minute.

James Hall (14') and Edgard Marutlulle (54') were the two try scorers for Kings with fly-half Elgar Watts scoring a conversion and a penalty. Full-back Jurgen Visser scored the vital penalty in the 60th minute to offer Kings a whiff at victory.

James Parsons (9') and Melani Nanai (25', 29') were the other two try scorers for Blues as fly-half West garnered nine points from three conversions and one penalty.

This was the first victory for Blues in South Africa from seven matches spanning over four years.

This result keeps Kings at the bottom of Africa 2 Conference standings whereas Blues remain at the bottom of New Zealand Conference and seventh in the Australasian Group despite winning five and drawing one out of total nine games.
