Scorecard

Wing Henry Speight scored two late tries as Brumbies bounced back to claim the top position with a 12-28 triumph over Waratahs in their Super Rugby clash at Allianz Stadium on Saturday.

An early yellow card to flanker Scott Fardy saw Brumbies reduced to 14-men temporarily and Waratahs prop Tom Robertson capitalised on it as he danced past the post in the eighth minute with wing Reece Robinson following up with the conversion.

Brumbies replied back in the 26th minute with a try from centre Tevita Kuridrani and the scores were levelled after a conversion from fly-half Wharenui Hawera.

The second half saw total domination from Brumbies as replacement Robbie Abel strolled past the post in the 57th minute followed by back-to-back tries from Speight and Hawera added conversions on all the three occasions to take the score to 28 points.

Replacement Jake Gordon's try were the only points for the home team in the second half as they succumbed to a 16 point defeat.

Brumbies now top Australian conference with 10 points from four games while Waratahs are fourth in the table with four points.
