Brumbies 22-27 Sharks, GIO Stadium
Scorecard

South Africa international Patrick Lambie contributed 17 points as Sharks overcame Brumbies with a 22-27 win at GIO Stadium in their Super Rugby match on Saturday.

It took Brumbies just one minute to get off the mark as Henry Speight crossed over but fly-half Wharenui Hawera missed out on the conversion. Sharks replied back with a penalty kick from Lambie 12 minutes later, to reduce the gap down to two points.

Hooker Josh Mann-Rea gave the hosts clear advantage when he danced past the post in the 23rd minute and Hawera added five more points with a conversion followed by a penalty. However, it was soon negated when prop Tendai Mtawarira scored a try of his own with Lambie adding the extras and followed it with a three-pointer just before half time.

Lambie got Sharks into lead with his third penalty which came in the 44th minute and added two more three-pointers which came after a sin-bin to Brumbies centre Kyle Godwin in the 49th minute.

Tevita Kuridrani brought Brumbies back into the game with his 68th minute try and Isaac Thompson's conversion meant the scores were levelled 22-22.

Just as the game was heading for a draw, centre Lukhanyo Am scored the decisive try in the final minute to secure a five-point win for Sharks, who now top Africa 2 group.
