Sale Sharks 19-85 Saracens, CorpAcq Stadium

Saracens returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion with an 85-19 victory over Sale Sharks at the CorpAcq Stadium, keeping their Gallagher PREM play-off hopes alive with a record-breaking away performance.

The visitors ran in 13 tries, secured the bonus point inside the opening half hour and completely overwhelmed a Sale side that never recovered from a brutal first-half onslaught.

The final margin was even heavier than the early exchanges suggested. Saracens were ruthless from the start, led 38-0 at halftime and went on to produce one of the most dominant attacking displays of the PREM season.

Saracens Blow Sale Away Early

The visitors started with real intent and struck first through Rotimi Segun, who was released by Charlie Bracken and powered over after Saracens built early pressure inside the Sale 22.

Sale tried to respond through Tom O’Flaherty, but Saracens held firm near their own line and quickly turned defence into attack.

Noah Caluori then began a remarkable scoring spree. His first try came after Max Malins broke clear and Maro Itoje helped send him away. Saracens’ forward power then took over as Tom Willis and Rhys Carré both crashed over from close range during a dominant spell.

Fergus Burke added a brilliant individual try with an audacious chip-and-chase, and Caluori grabbed his second before halftime to cap a stunning opening 40 minutes.

Caluori Runs Riot In The Second Half

Sale finally got on the board after the restart through Tom O’Flaherty, who crossed in the corner after a better spell from the hosts.

But any hope of a comeback disappeared quickly. Charlie Bracken added another try after excellent work from Caluori, and the winger then completed his hat-trick by intercepting a Rob du Preez pass on halfway and sprinting clear.

Caluori was still not finished. He added two more tries in the following spell, including another superb acrobatic finish in the corner, taking his tally against Sale this season into double figures.

Saracens Keep Piling On

Saracens continued to score almost at will. Nathan Michelow and Max Malins both crossed as Sale’s defence struggled to cope with the pace and width of the visitors’ attack.

Sale managed another consolation through O’Flaherty, but Saracens answered immediately when Ben Earl finished after another break from Malins.

The Sharks had the final score of the match through Asher Opoku-Fordjour, but by then the contest had long been decided.
