Rugby Football Union (RFU) has cleared Worcester Warriors flanker Phil Dowson of the charges of striking Northampton Saints wing Ken Pisi in the recent Avvia Premiership encounter between the two teams.

The incident happened during the first half of the game which Northampton Saints managed to win 24-14 at Franklin's Gardens last weekend.

A statement released by RFU confirmed that Dowson is free to resume playing for his club.

"Following a review of the incident which occurred in the first half of the Aviva Premiership match between Worcester and Northampton Saints on Saturday, the disciplinary panel determined that the charge should be dismissed.

"Dowson is now free to play again with immediate effect."

Meanwhile, Harlequins fullback Aaron Morris, who was sanctioned a yellow card for tackling Leicester Tigers wing Adam Thompstone in air has been handed a three-week suspension. The 22-year-old is set to return to action from 21st March onwards.

"The panel found this was a reckless incident that warranted a red card," added the statement from RFU.

"The Leicester Tigers player luckily sustained no serious injury and was able to play on. As such it was deemed a low end offence."
