Mikey Haywood scored a double as Northampton Saints returned back to top six in the Aviva Premiership with a 24-14 victory over Worcester Warriors in Franklin's Gardens on Saturday.

Fullback Josh Adams got Worcester Warriors off the mark with a fifth minute try which was followed by a conversion from fly-half Ryan Mills.

The scores were levelled when number eight Teimana Harrison replied back with a 18th minute try and Stephen Myler added the extras.

Haywood scored the first of his two tries at the stroke of half time after a penalty from Myler as Northampton Saints claimed a 10-point lead at half-time.

After both teams failed to score points in the first 30 minutes of the second half, Haywood scored his second try in the 73rd minute and Myler's conversion stretched the gap to 17 points.

Even though, Bryce Heem scored the final try in the added minutes, Worcester Warriors slipped to a 10-point defeat. Northampton Saints are placed sixth in the table while Worcester Warriors continue to remain at 11th.

Widely regarded as the most competitive rugby union league in the world...it can only be the Gallagher Premiership.
