Scorecard

James Short scored a hat-trick as Exeter Chiefs ran a total of seven tries against Worcester Warriors at the Sixways stadium on Saturday to score an impressive 32-48 win in the Aviva Premiership rugby clash.

Only a single point separated the two sides at the half-time whistle.

The Chiefs had 17 points in their bag after fly-half Gareth Steenson (6) and Short (26) scored a try each with Steenson successfully converting both tries in addition to scoring a penalty on the 39th minute.

Warriors' 18 points were contributed by tries each from fullback Josh Adams (3) and wing Perry Humphreys (12) in addition to fly-half Ryan Mills' conversion of Adams try followed by a couple of penalties on eighth and 36th minute.

Warriors number8 Alafoti Faosiliva was sin-binned on the 43rd minute allowing the visitors a window of opportunity.

The Chiefs bagged a whooping 19 points haul in those 10 minutes by scoring two converted and one unconverted try. Wing Olly Woodburn (44), Short (47) and number8 Sam Simmonds (53) crossed over the try line for the visitors with Henry Slade scoring a couple of conversions.

Wing Bryce Heem's converted try on the 58th minute gave the hosts a ray of hope which was immediately squashed by Exeter centre Michele Campagnaro's 61st minute converted try.

Centre Jackson Willison scored a converted try on the penultimate minute of the game but it wasn't enough to stop the visitors from securing a 16-point comfortable victory in the end.
