Harlequins have confirmed the signing of Australian prop Harry Johnson-Holmes ahead of the 2026/27 season, adding Super Rugby experience and front-row versatility to their squad.

Harry Johnson-Holmes Joins Harlequins

Johnson-Holmes will move to The Stoop after building a strong reputation in Australian rugby. The 29-year-old prop is capable of playing on both sides of the scrum, giving Harlequins valuable depth and flexibility in the front row.

Born and raised in New South Wales, Johnson-Holmes came through the NSW Country Eagles and Sydney University pathways before stepping into Super Rugby.

Harlequins Add Super Rugby Experience

Johnson-Holmes made his Super Rugby debut for the NSW Waratahs in 2018 and went on to make 91 appearances for the franchise across seven seasons.

He earned his Wallabies cap against South Africa in Johannesburg in July 2019 and has also been involved in later Australia squads. Ahead of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season, he joined Western Force, further adding to his experience in top-level competition.

Jason Gilmore Welcomes Prop Signing

Johnson-Holmes said he was excited to join Harlequins and become part of a club with strong history, passionate supporters and a clear identity.

He also highlighted his previous working relationship with head coach Jason Gilmore, saying it gave him confidence that Harlequins would be the right environment to continue developing his game.

"I’m incredibly excited to be joining Harlequins for the upcoming season. To become part of a club with such a proud history, passionate supporters and a strong identity is something I’m really looking forward to,” said Johnson-Holmes to the club's official website.

“Having worked with Jason (Gilmore) before, I have great confidence that Harlequins is the perfect environment for me to continue developing my game. I’ve seen first-hand the impact he has on a playing group, and I can’t wait to work with him again".
