Ryan Mills kicked eight penalties to help Worcester Warriors stun defending champions Saracens with a 24-18 win in their Aviva Premiership clash at Sixways on Saturday.

Even though the fly-half missed his range in the opening shot, Mills got Worcester Warriors off the mark with two penalties in the ninth and 22nd minute.

Five minutes later Saracens wing Mike Ellery was sin-binned which also resulted in third penalty from Mills. Saracens finally managed to get a breakthrough with Chris Ashton crossing over in the 35th minute allowing fly-half Alex Lozowski with the conversion.

Just at the stroke of halftime, Mills scored his fourth penalty ensuring a five-point lead for the home side at the end of first half.

The second half started with Mills and Lozowski exchanging penalties following which the Worcester Warriors fly-half scored nine more points through three penalties that increased the gap to 14 points.

Just as the game was approaching fulltime, hooker Schalk Brits scored a desperate try to give them a glimmer of hope. Replacement Ben Spencer kicked a penalty in the 79th minute but could not prevent his team from succumbing to a six-point defeat.

Saracens continue to remain at the second position with 49 points while Worcester Warriors have stretched their gap with Bristol by five points.
