Harlequins have confirmed the signing of former England U20 international Nick Auterac from their Aviva Premiership rivals Bath.

The 25-year-old will switch to Twickenham Stoop at the end of the ongoing season and will join the likes of Joe Marler, Kyle Sinckler and Will Collier to boost their front-row options.

Auterac made his professional rugby debut with Saracens in 2011 and had a couple of loan stints with London Scottish and Bedford Blues before he joined Bath in 2014.

"Nick is a highly respected and experienced Premiership loosehead prop. It is a position we already have strength in, but his arrival will ensure we have the necessary quality throughout the season in a key position," said Harlequins Director of Rugby John Kingston.

“I know he has aspirations on the representative front and I am sure with our quality coaching group advancing his game, he will be able to take his performances on to the next level at Harlequins."

Meanwhile, Auterac is keen to be part of the Quins on what will be his third stint with an Aviva Premiership club after Saracens and Bath.

“I’m really excited about joining Harlequins. It’s a club I have always followed closely and the opportunity to work with John Kingston, Graham Rowntree and Adam Jones is something I am really looking forward to and cannot wait to get started."
