Canada international Djustice Sears-Duru completes short-term move to Glasgow

Glasgow have signed Canada international Djustice Sears-Duru as well as tying up three BT Sport Scottish Rugby Academy players on professional contracts.

Loosehead prop Sears-Duru has signed until the end of the season. The 21-year-old already has 16 caps for Canada and played in all four of his country's games at the World Cup last year.

Warriors head coach Gregor Townsend said: "We're delighted to welcome Djustice to the club and we look forward to working with him.

"We came up against him in our pre-season fixture over in Canada and he impressed us that day with his raw strength and physicality.

"He is young, keen to learn and will be a great addition to our squad as we enter the final weeks of the season."

Meanwhile, Scotland Under-20s captain Scott Cummings has signed a three-year contract, hooker James Malcolm has signed for two years and centre Nick Grigg has penned a one-year deal.

Glasgow-born Cummings has scored one try in nine appearances for Warriors and also scored a try during Scotland U20s' 24-6 win over England this year. The second-row forward also turns out fo r Glasgow Hawks in the BT Premiership.

Cummings said: "I was thrilled when I found out Glasgow wanted to sign me on a professional deal.

"The fact it's a three-year deal is a big honour because it means I can commit my future to the club and play here for many years to come."

Malcolm is a Glasgow-born 21-year-old who has made 11 appearances this season and marked his first start with a try in a Champions Cup win over Scarlets.

Centre Grigg moved to the academy from Petone in New Zealand and made his Warriors debut off the bench in a 12-6 win over Leinster last Friday. The 23-year-old has also featured for Scotland Sevens and Stirling County.

Townsend added: "Scott played very well in the early part of the season and really grabbed his opportunity to play at a higher level.

"James has also stepped up this season and played well in a number of games for us. He has an excellent attitude and will work hard to continue to improve as a full-time professional.

"Nick has had a great season with Stirling and made real progress on the physical and skill elements of his game."
