Bayley Kuenzle Joins Glasgow Warriors

Kuenzle arrives as a significant addition to Franco Smith’s squad as Glasgow strengthen their back-line options for next season.

He is capable of playing on the wing and at centre, while also providing cover at full-back and fly-half, giving the club added depth and versatility across several positions.

The Australian said he was excited by the move and pointed to Glasgow’s style of rugby and strong team culture as major reasons behind his decision.

“I’m hugely excited,” Kuenzle told glasgowwarriors.org.

“It’s a massive opportunity for me, and Glasgow is a club that’s been successful which speak volumes on the culture. I’m really looking forward to getting over there, meeting the group, and getting stuck in.

“A big part of the move was the style of rugby that Glasgow play and the culture around the club. They play an exciting brand of rugby, and you can see how tight the group is. It feels like a place where you can grow as a player and be part of something special."

Kuenzle has made 44 appearances for Western Force and also featured against the British and Irish Lions at Optus Stadium last summer. Before his move to Perth, he played 20 times for the Brumbies between 2019 and 2021, scoring 38 points for the Canberra-based side.

His strong 2024 Super Rugby campaign saw him finish runner-up in the Nathan Sharpe Medal voting, recognising his impact for the Force. He was also called into the senior Australia squad ahead of the 2024 summer Tests and has previously represented Australia A and Australia Under-20s.

He is expected to arrive in Scotland this summer before linking up with the Warriors for pre-season preparations.
