Scotland international Scott Cummings has signed a new contract that will see him remain with Glasgow Warriors, pledging his future to his boyhood club.
Cummings has become a central figure at Scotstoun since making his professional debut during the 2015/16 season. He has now made 148 appearances for Glasgow Warriors and is regarded as one of the leading second-row forwards in the northern hemisphere.
He reached the 100-appearance milestone during Franco Smith’s first season as head coach, captaining the side in a record 73–33 win over the Dragons.
Since then, Cummings has continued to be a cornerstone of the pack, contributing 15 tries and ranking among the top performers for lineout takes and steals.
Cummings etched his name into club history in June 2024 when he scored the opening try in Glasgow’s 21–16 victory away to the Vodacom Bulls in the United Rugby Championship Grand Final.
At international level, Cummings is closing in on 50 Scotland caps and has represented his country at the 2019 and 2023 Rugby World Cups. His form earned him selection for the 2025 British and Irish Lions tour of Australia, where he made five appearances.
Cummings said staying at Glasgow was an easy decision, citing the club’s direction, his strong family ties to the area, and the opportunity to continue growing both on and off the field.
“I’m very pleased to re-sign,” Cummings told glasgowwarriors.org.
“With Glasgow being my boyhood club and being a supporter before I ever became a player, it means so much to me to have the chance to play for Glasgow.
"To have been able to represent this club for the past 11 years now is a real honour, and with the direction the club is travelling right now it was a really easy decision to stay".
