Scorecard

The Brumbies thrived a strong-willed effort from the Reds to seize a 43-24 bonus-point victory during the Super Rugby clash in Canberra on Friday.

Only five points separated the two sides during the half-time interval, however, the introduction of Argentinian scrum-half Tomas Cubelli, shifted the momentum in favor of the home side.

Cubelli, who started off the bench due to late arrival after concluding his international duty with the Pumas, scored a crucial 70th minute try and helped set another one to ensure Brumbies remain on top of the Australian Conference table.

Christian Leali'ifano had a productive outing for the Brumbies as the fly-half bagged 18 points which included a 60th minute try and five conversions along with a penalty.

Hooker Stephen Moore (35', 48') scored a double whereas prop Ben Alexander (40') and replacement Lausii Taliauli (74') scored a try each as the Brumbies extended their tally to six.

In response, the Reds managed to score three tries as hooker Andrew Ready (15'), replacement fly-half Duncan Paia'Aua (53') and replacement prop Taniela Tupou (78') crossed over the try line.

Centre Henry Taefu managed to score all three conversions and a penalty, however, the Queensland side succumbed to a hefty 19-point defeat.

The win has enabled Brumbies to consolidate their play-off chances with a couple of rounds remaining for the conclusion of the round-robin games.
