Kadin and Treyvon Pritchard have committed their long-term futures to Australian rugby after signing new deals with the ACT Brumbies and Queensland Reds respectively.
The brothers had attracted interest from incoming NRL side PNG Chiefs but have chosen to continue pursuing their ambitions in rugby union.
Kadin Pritchard Extends Brumbies Stay
Kadin has extended his Brumbies contract by another year, keeping him in Canberra through to the end of 2030.
He acknowledged the interest from rugby league but said he remains focused on developing his game in union and believes the Brumbies are the right environment for his career.
Kadin also highlighted his younger brother’s rapid progress and the importance of both continuing to develop within Australian rugby.
"It was pretty cool to see interest from cross-codes. But I love rugby union too much and the Brumbies are where I want to be," he said.
"It (PNG) was definitely a good opportunity, but talking with my brother and all that, I didn't want to switch to a new code. I think I'm still finding my feet here in rugby, so I don't want to go and switch to a different thing and kind of restart where I've been going.
"I think what [Treyvon] been able to do at his young age, I think it would be smart for them to try and keep him around."
Treyvon Pritchard Commits to Queensland Reds
Treyvon has committed to the Reds through at least 2029 after emerging as one of Australia’s leading young talents.
The 19-year-old said Brisbane remains home and believes continuing with the Reds will help him develop both as a player and as a person.
Treyvon also acknowledged the cross-code interest but stressed that rugby union has already given him significant opportunities.
"I've established myself here a little bit and I want to continue to grow here and what they've given me, I want to be able to give back to them in the next coming years," he said.
"It was exciting getting some cross-code engagement but Union has given me a lot so being able to continue my time here, I'm going to grow as a player and as a person. Brisbane's my home so I'm really excited to continue with this journey."
Pritchard Brothers Target Wallabies Dream
Both brothers now have their sights set on progressing towards Wallabies selection while continuing their development with their respective Super Rugby Pacific clubs.
Treyvon is currently recovering from a broken leg and is targeting a return in November or December.
