Brumbies have kept their chance of making to the play-off alive after defeating Bulls 23-6 in their Super Rugby clash at the GIO Stadium on Friday.

After losing their previous two encounters against Crusaders and Highlanders, the win could not have come at a better time for Brumbies, who now top the Australian Conference group with 25 points from 10 games.

Brumbies campaign took a beating through an injury to fly-half Matt Toomua but they were well served by the return of Australian skipper Stephen Moore.

Bulls fly-half Francois Brummer scored the first point of the game in the form of a penalty kick in the third minute, but in return his counterpart Christian Leali'ifano responded with three penalty kicks to give a 9-3 lead to Brummies at the end of first-half.

Things just went tough for Bulls as Nigel Ah Wong and Tomas Cubelli scored the only two tries in the game in the 44th and 56th minute respectively to deny any chance of a comeback for the Bulls.

The 23-6 win of Brummies was also their biggest victory in terms of margin over Bulls in the last 13 years.
