Newcastle Red Bulls have confirmed the signing of fly-half Zack Henry, who will join the club this summer on a one-year deal.
The 31-year-old returns to the Gallagher PREM after an extended spell in France, where he has spent the majority of his professional career.
Henry last played in the PREM during the COVID-affected season with Leicester Tigers, before moving back across the Channel.
A former Bath University student, Henry has represented Rouen and Nevers in the French leagues, followed by a season with Leicester where he made 26 appearances, including a Challenge Cup semi-final.
He later established himself with Pau and is now approaching 50 appearances for Stade Français.
Henry said he is looking forward to a full PREM experience after nearly a decade in France and is excited by Newcastle’s long-term vision.
“I’m really looking forward to coming back," he told the club's official website.
“I have spent nine years of my professional career in France and my only time in the PREM was during Covid, so I’m excited about coming home and having the full experience.
“I’m also really excited by what Newcastle are building. I’ve had some inspiring conversations with the club and I can’t wait to be part of such an ambitious project.
“I’ve loved every minute of my time in France and am eternally grateful for how it’s shaped me, both on and off the field. Hopefully I can bring some of that experience to the Red Bulls next season.”
