Centre Zach Kerr has officially committed to a second season with Doncaster Knights, extending his stay into the 2025/26 RFU Championship campaign.
The talented back has impressed during his debut year with the club and is now set to continue his progress with the Knights.
Originally from Ireland, Kerr made the move to Newcastle in 2020 to pursue a law degree. While studying, he was recruited by Newcastle Falcons and quickly made an impact by earning his Premiership debut in 2021 against Exeter Chiefs.
His time at Falcons saw him score three tries in 17 appearances before switching to Doncaster Knights ahead of the 2024/25 season.
This season, Kerr has been a vital part of the Doncaster squad, featuring in nearly every match and adding four tries to his name. Beyond scoring, his defensive contributions have drawn widespread praise for consistency and determination.
His re-signing has been met with enthusiasm across the coaching team. Consultant Director of Rugby Sir Ian McGeechan praised his influence on the squad:
"We are delighted Zach has re-signed, he has made a tremendous contribution to the squad this season. Both on and off the field and he has become a really important part of the team’s development."
Head Coach Joe Ford echoed this sentiment, highlighting Kerr's versatility and work ethic:
"Zach is a brilliant professional who can play in a number of different positions throughout the backline and will be equally as good in all of them.
"He competes on every single play never refusing to take a backward step. We are lucky to have him in our team."
