Doncaster Knights have announced that back-row forward Thom Smith has extended his contract with the club for the 2025–26 RFU Championship season.

Smith, a consistent performer and influential leader, has reaffirmed his commitment to the team as they look ahead to the new campaign.

Having started his professional career with Leicester Tigers, Smith made headlines early on by becoming the youngest player to captain the club at just 19 years old.

Following a stint with Jersey Reds, he rejoined Doncaster Knights, where he previously impressed with his performances and was even named co-captain.

Known for his adaptability across the back row and his high work rate, Smith has been a key figure in the Knights' structure.

His understanding of the game and dedication to the squad’s culture have made him one of the cornerstones of the club’s ongoing development.

Head Coach Joe Ford expressed his enthusiasm at Smith's decision to stay on, pointing out the value of retaining experienced, driven players who lead by example.
