Ulster Rugby has confirmed the additions of Rory McGuire and Sam Crean to their senior squad ahead of the upcoming season, reinforcing the club’s front-row depth as it navigates key departures in the pack.
Rory McGuire, a 22-year-old prop, joins from Leinster.
Standing at 6ft 4in and weighing in at 122kg, McGuire brings physicality and potential to the Ulster forward unit. A standout member of Ireland’s Under-20 Grand Slam-winning side in 2022, McGuire’s career trajectory has been closely followed.
His previous work under current Ulster head coach Richie Murphy at age-grade level is expected to aid his integration into the senior environment.
Sam Crean, 24, has also signed a permanent deal with the province after impressing during a short-term loan spell from Saracens earlier in the season.
Crean made two appearances during his loan and made a strong case for a long-term place in the Ulster squad.
The dual signings come as Ulster manages the exit of experienced props Corrie Barrett and Andrew Warwick.
