Scarlets have confirmed the signing of Crusaders and All Blacks-capped forward Cullen Grace ahead of the 2026-27 season, adding major New Zealand experience to their squad.
Cullen Grace Signs For Scarlets
Grace will move to West Wales from the Crusaders, where he has built a strong reputation in one of rugby’s most successful environments. The 26-year-old forward is capable of playing across the back row and can also cover lock.
Grace came through the Crusaders Academy and made his mark at Super Rugby level with consistent performances for the Christchurch-based franchise. He has made 68 appearances for the Crusaders and has also been a key figure for Canterbury.
A former New Zealand Under-20 international, Grace earned his first All Blacks cap against Australia in 2020. He has also represented the Maori All Blacks, further underlining his standing within New Zealand rugby.
Nigel Davies Welcomes Cullen Grace
Scarlets interim Director of Rugby Nigel Davies said Grace stood out because of both his playing profile and personal qualities. He highlighted the forward’s professionalism, competitiveness, leadership and desire to improve.
“When we looked at the profile of player we wanted to bring into the club, Cullen stood out immediately. He is a proven performer, but what really impressed us was the person behind the player.
“When you speak to people who have worked with him, the same themes keep coming up – professionalism, competitiveness, leadership and a genuine desire to improve every day.
"Those qualities are hugely important to us as we continue to build our environment and drive standards across the programme".
