Former Scotland international Tommy Seymour has extended his stay with Glasgow Warriors after signing a one-year contract extension with the Pro14 club.

Seymour started his senior career with Ulster in 2010 but moved to Glasgow Warriors ahead of the 2011/12 season and has racked up 138 appearances for the Scottish club since then. He was named in the Pro12 Dream Teams at the end of the 2014/15 and 2016/17 seasons.

"Being in a city that has become my home over the last nine years was a massive factor in deciding to stay," said Seymour to https://www.glasgowwarriors.org.

"My wife and I are incredibly happy here, our children are settled and the opportunity to play in a shirt that means so much to me is always going to be hard to pass up.

"I'm looking forward to continuing to give back to a club that has given me so much."

Having qualified to play for Scotland through his Glasgow-born mother, Seymour made his international debut in 2013 and has gone on to play 55 Tests for the Dark Blues before announcing his retirement from Scotland duty at the end of the recently concluded World Cup in Japan.

"Tommy is a world-class back-three player and we saw that last season where I think he played some of the best rugby of his career in our end-of-season run-in," said head coach Dave Rennie.

"The club means an awful lot to him and you can see that in the way that he trains as well as every time he pulls on the jersey.

"He is a model professional and an excellent example to our young players coming through. We're rapt that he has chosen to extend again."
