Ospreys have confirmed that experienced tighthead prop Tom Botha has signed a new deal with the Welsh club.

The South African-born prop has been a key part of the squad since arriving in 2018 and remains an important figure in the pack.

Tom Botha New Ospreys Deal Confirmed

Botha has made 161 appearances for Ospreys since joining the club and has become a regular presence in the front row.

Since moving to Ospreys in 2018, Botha has developed into a fan favourite and a cornerstone of the side’s set-piece platform. His role has gone beyond matchdays, with the prop also helping guide younger front-row players coming through the system.

Botha said the club has become a second home for him and added that he is pleased to continue his career there.

“Ever since I joined the Ospreys, I have been made to feel welcome, this club has become a second home for me, so I’m happy to be continuing my career here.

“I have had the privilege of playing alongside and learning from some incredible players in my time here. I’m now in a position in my career where I can pass on that knowledge to some of the youngers boys coming through, whilst still giving my all on the field for this great club.”

Ospreys Keep Experienced Tighthead Prop

Head coach Mark Jones said Botha has been an outstanding servant to the club and praised both his availability and his contribution to the team’s scrum success in recent seasons.

“Tommy has been an incredible servant to the Ospreys and a key factor behind our set-piece success as a team in recent seasons. The fact he has managed to mount up as many appearances as he has, it speaks volumes about his availability and care for the team.”
