Sam Parry has signed a new deal with Ospreys, extending the stay of one of the club’s most experienced and influential players.

Parry has now made 183 appearances for Ospreys, making him the joint most-capped hooker in the club’s history. He is also fifth on the club’s all-time try-scoring list with 46 tries, underlining his impact over a long spell in Swansea.

Wales Hooker Continues Key Leadership Role

The 33-year-old has also won seven caps for Wales and has become an important leader within the Ospreys group in recent seasons.

He has captained the side on multiple occasions and continues to offer experience, physicality and reliability at set-piece time. His presence has been especially valuable within a squad that includes a growing number of younger players.

Ospreys Retain Experienced Forward Option

Parry said he was happy to remain with a club that means a great deal to him, adding that each appearance in the black jersey has continued to feel special.

“I’m really happy to be staying with the Ospreys, this club means a lot to me. I have spent most of my career here and have played a lot of games in that time, each time I’ve run onto the pitch wearing the black jersey has been just as special as the last.”

“We’ve got a good group here, with a mix of experience and exciting young talent and I’m looking forward to contributing in whatever way I can in making sure we reach our potential.”

Head coach Mark Jones said Parry represents what it means to be an Osprey and praised both his professionalism and influence within the squad.

“Sam personifies what it is to be an Osprey. To have someone like him in your squad is invaluable and his professionalism has always been unquestionable since I joined the club.

"You don’t make as many appearances for a club with such a rich history like the Ospreys without being a good human and Sam certainly qualifies as that".
