Fijian Drua have confirmed that hooker Tevita Ikanivere and halfback Simione Kuruvoli have re-signed with the club ahead of the upcoming 2024 season.

Both were part of Fiji's World Cup squad in France last year and played key roles in the historic victories against England and Australia.

Ikanivere made his debut for Fijian Drua in 2019 and has made 25 appearances for the club since then scoring 7 tries. He also won the 2023 Drua Player of the Year award and has played 13 Tests for Fiji since his international debut in 2020.

Meanwhile, Kuruvoli made his debut for Fijian Drua in 2022 but a shoulder injury limited his involvement in the 2023 season. He has made six appearances for the club while featuring for Fiji in 11 Tests.

Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans is delighted with both Ikanivere and Kuruvoli remaining with the club.

“We are delighted to secure Tex (Ikanivere) and Simi (Kuruvoli) for the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific. The players share our vision of what the Drua represents and are excited about our prospects in this competition," said Evans.

“Both of them are world-class players and the fact that they’ve chosen to stay at home to play for the Drua and be available for the Flying Fijians means a lot to us. It’s a testament to the work of our playing department and team management as well.

“There’s a clarity of roles and optimism about our future that everyone in the Fijian Drua has bought into, which is fantastic to see".

Fijian Drua will kick-start the 2024 Super Rugby Pacific campaign with a clash against Blues on 24th February.
