Shortlist for Aviva Premiership Rugby Player of the Season announced

Five players will be competing for the Aviva Premiership Rugby Player of the Season award for their consistent performances in the ongoing competition.

The list includes Exeter Chiefs’ Don Armand, Wasps' Dany Cipriani and Newcastle Falcons' Vereniki Goneva, who will be seen in action during the play-off stages.

Apart from the trio, Sale Sharks' Faf De Klerk and Northampton Saints’ Jamie Gibson also make it to the shortlist after they managed to feature in all 22 rounds of the tournament.

The winner will be announced on 16th May when the Aviva Premiership Awards kicks-off at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.

The panel chaired by Paul Morgan (Premiership Rugby’s Communications Director) consisted of Alastair Eykyn (BT Sport), Nick Mullins (BT Sport), Sonja McLaughlan (BBC Radio), Sarah Mockford (Rugby World), Mick Cleary (Telegraph), Stephen Jones (The Times), Jonny Fordham (The Sun), Dave Rogers (Getty Images) and Chris Jones (BBC Radio).
