Cardiff Rugby has confirmed that playmaker Rory Jennings has signed a new contract to extend his stay at the club.
The 29-year-old, who joined from Newcastle Falcons in 2023, quickly established himself as a pivotal figure in Cardiff’s backline and will remain a key contributor heading into the next season.
Jennings featured in 17 matches during his debut campaign, offering vital versatility by playing both at fly-half and centre.
Known for his sharp decision-making and tactical kicking, Jennings played a crucial role in shaping the team’s attacking systems, seamlessly adapting to the club’s fast-paced style under head coach Matt Sherratt.
“Rory has added massive value to the club both on and off the field.
"His input to our game off the field has been excellent and most importantly he has brought exactly what we’d hoped for on the field. He adds to our game model in that second receiver role where he can connect our game with his voice and skill set.
"I’m delighted that we have been able to keep him at Cardiff.”
A former England Under-20s international, Jennings brings top-level experience from previous spells with Bath, London Irish, and Clermont Auvergne.
His presence has strengthened Cardiff’s backline depth, especially with his ability to direct play and support emerging talent in the squad.
Jennings expressed enthusiasm for continuing his journey in the Welsh capital, stating:
“I’m really excited to be staying at Cardiff for another year. It was an easy decision for me to make in the end.
"We have a squad with a huge amount of talent and potential, and I have been impressed with the staff and players from the moment I joined.
"I’m now looking forward to contributing in any way I can to help the club win, during the season ahead.”
