Munster Rugby and the IRFU have announced contract extensions for tighthead props Roman Salanoa and Conor Bartley, ensuring both will continue with the province into the 2025–26 season.

Salanoa, 27, has been part of Munster’s setup since making his debut in 2020.

The Hawaiian-born prop has made 30 appearances for the side and scored two tries, playing a crucial role in the team’s 2022–23 United Rugby Championship title-winning campaign.

Having undergone a long recovery from a significant knee injury, Salanoa now returns to full training and is committed to the province on a fresh one-year contract. His renewal reflects Munster’s faith in his recovery trajectory and long-term contribution.

Bartley, aged 29, joined the Munster squad in November 2024 following standout performances for Young Munster in the Energia All-Ireland League.

His ability to cover both tighthead and loosehead prop positions proved valuable over the past season.

Bartley has been handed a short-term contract extension, maintaining his role as front-row depth alongside established names like John Ryan and Oli Jager, as well as promising youngster Ronan Foxe.

With Stephen Archer’s retirement creating additional room in the front-row rotation, these signings come at a critical time.

Munster continues to emphasise depth and resilience in their tight-five selections, and the retention of Salanoa and Bartley aligns with their broader strategic focus on developing a balanced squad with experience and adaptability.
