Plymouth Albion Add Three More

Plymouth Albion head coach James Shanahan continued building his squad for next season by signing three more new players.

Lock Neale Patrick moves to Brickfields from local rivals the Cornish Pirates where he will be joined by wingers Peter Homan (London Scottish) along with Jake Henry (Cardiff Metropolitan University).

24 year old Patrick, who stands 6' 8” and weighs 122kgs, has representative honours with Scotland under 20's and previously played for Boroughmuir and Rotherham Titans before joining the Pirates last summer.

Shanahan commenting on the signing of Patrick said, "He is a very good ball carrier and with his height will be a considerable asset in the line out.

"Neale is strong in the set scrum and he will add physicality and power to our pack. This season we have played some great rugby but have lacked punch up front.”

Homan, who is recognised as one of the quickest wingers in the Championship, is the second player moving to Albion from London Scottish after hooker Ted Stagg signed a few weeks ago.

Homan is a product of the Newcastle Falcons Academy and moved to London Scottish last summer after two seasons at Rotherham Titans.

Shanahan said, "Peter has struggled to settle in London and he will add power and pace to our back line next season.”

Henry started his rugby career at Haywards Heath RFC and while studying in Wales he represented England Students and Great Britain 7's.

Whilst playing for GB 7's, Henry worked with former England 7's assistant coach Russell Earnshaw and it was on his recommendation that Shanahan signed the 6' 3” winger.

Henry will graduate this summer from Cardiff Metropolitan University along with centre Ben Axten- Burrett, who will also be playing for Plymouth Albion next season.
