Max Argyle extends his stay at the Titans

Rotherham Titans are delighted to announce that Max Argyle has penned a deal to keep him at Clifton Lane for the 2014/15 Greene King IPA Championship season.

The 21 years-old former Sheffield Tigers and Derby RFC back rower has impressed the Titans coaching staff in his first year at the club and as a result has earned the contract offer to remain with the South Yorkshire outfit.

Born in Derby, Argyle's opportunities have been limited this season and as a result he's spent time out on loan with Hull RUFC; however he did impress for Rotherham in the British & Irish Cup match against Llanelli RFC at the Parc y Scarlets in December. It's thought, such has been the development in his game this term, Max will figure far more prominently for the Titans next term.

Head Coach Lee Blackett, commenting on Argyle's retention explained, "I delighted that Max has agreed to stay, I think when we first brought him to the club we thought he was a bit of a gamble, but he's come on massively this year, just as we hoped he would. He's spent some time out on loan at Hull and anyone who's seen him play for them will have seen how much he's developed this season.

"At this moment in time I think his best position is at blindside; he has great physicality, he's ferocious, aggressive and he's in your face all of the time. This isn't a young lad signing a development contract; this is a guy who we expect to kick-on even further next year and to be playing first team rugby here at Rotherham.”
