London Welsh is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Stevens as the Club's new Chief Executive Officer.

Mike is currently the Event Services Director of Sportsworld, part of TUI Travel PLC based in Wimbledon, and prior to that was Commercial Manager at Leicester Tigers for seven hugely successful years. He was also Ticketing Manager for the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games Organising Committee.

Mike brings a wealth of ticketing, sales, marketing and commercial experience to London Welsh.

Mike, who lives in Abingdon, Oxfordshire, will take up his position at London Welsh on May 12th 2014.

The recruitment process was handled by one of the UK's leading recruitment firms, Welsh headquartered, Acorn.

Commenting on the appointment, London Welsh Chairman Bleddyn Phillips said: "We are delighted to confirm Mike's appointment as Chief Executive Officer and we welcome him to London Welsh.

"Mike has the necessary commercial experience, expertise and acumen to help take the Club forward as we look to cement our position at the top flight of English club rugby.

"Following on from the Club's recent announcement that it will continue to play at the Kassam Stadium for a further three years, Mike's appointment further illustrates the Club's determination to continue to play at the highest level.”

Mike Stevens said: "London Welsh is a world-wide recognised rugby brand with a fantastic history and I'm delighted to be joining at what is a very exciting time, with the Club pushing for promotion to the Premiership.”
