Red Bull has completed its acquisition of Newcastle Falcons, rebranding the club as Newcastle Red Bulls ahead of the 2025–26 season.
The club will continue to play home matches at Kingston Park, with Steve Diamond remaining as Director of Rugby.
The takeover secures the financial future of the club, with the new owners clearing substantial debts and committing to long-term investment.
Newcastle, who have finished bottom of the Premiership table for the past three seasons, will now benefit from significant resources aimed at reviving their on-field performances and strengthening their presence in domestic and European competitions.
Red Bull, known globally for its sporting ventures in football, Formula 1, and extreme sports, plans to introduce modern infrastructure upgrades, enhanced fan engagement initiatives, and a strengthened academy system to develop local rugby talent.
The ambition is to make the team competitive for major trophies in the coming years.
Oliver Mintzlaff, Red Bull CEO Corporate Projects and Investments, said: “Together, we aim to elevate rugby to new heights and deliver unforgettable moments for our fans.
"We’re delighted to have acquired Newcastle Red Bulls and look forward to empowering the club to reach its full competitive potential.”
The new era for the club begins on 26 September when Newcastle Red Bulls face Saracens at Kingston Park in their Premiership opener.
