Tom Hill named PREM Rugby revenue chief

PREM Rugby has appointed experienced sports executive Tom Hill as its new Chief Revenue Officer as the league looks to accelerate sponsorship and commercial growth ahead of its 30th season.

Hill arrives from professional cycling team Netcompany INEOS, where he had served as Chief Commercial Officer since 2024.

In his new role, he will take responsibility for PREM Rugby’s existing and prospective commercial partners while leading the league’s growing partnerships team.

He will work closely with Chief Commercial & Growth Officer Rob Calder as PREM Rugby targets the next phase of sponsorship revenue development.

Chief executive Simon Massie-Taylor said Hill’s experience across major sporting organisations and his understanding of rugby made him well suited to lead the league’s partnership strategy.

“Tom’s experience across some of the biggest properties in sport, combined with his deep understanding of rugby, makes him ideally placed to lead our Partnerships Team and accelerate our sponsorship ambitions.”

Former World Rugby executive returns to rugby

Hill brings more than 20 years of experience across sponsorship, partnerships and commercial development.

He joined World Rugby as Chief Commercial Officer in 2017, overseeing its broadcast, commercial and marketing strategy.

Before that, Hill worked in Premier League and Champions League football as Manchester United’s Global Head of Partnerships & Operations.

His previous rugby experience also includes spells as Commercial Director at Saracens and in commercial roles with the RFU, including General Manager of the England Rugby Supporters’ Club.

Hill said he was pleased to return to rugby and highlighted PREM Rugby’s ambition to expand its commercial footprint.

“I’m delighted to be returning to rugby and joining the PREM at such an exciting time for the sport.

“There’s real ambition here to grow the game’s commercial footprint and I can’t wait to get going with the whole PREM Rugby team to build on the league’s momentum ahead of our 30th season.”

PREM Rugby prepares for 30th season

The appointment comes ahead of the 2026-27 Gallagher PREM campaign as the competition continues to strengthen its commercial operations.

The new season begins on Friday, September 25, with reigning champions Northampton Saints hosting Newcastle Red Bulls at Franklin’s Gardens.
