Munster Rugby have confirmed the signing of Australia forward Jed Holloway on a short-term deal as a World Cup cover.

Holloway made his professional rugby debut with Waratahs in 2013 and has featured in 52 Super Rugby games.

The decision to sign the 26-year-old comes after Munster's Jean Kleyn, Tadhg Beirne, Peter O’Mahony and CJ Stander will be involved in Ireland's World Cup commitments.

Holloway has also represented Australia Under 20 and Australia Schools in the past and will join the Irish club at the end of September for two months before rejoining Waratahs at the start of the 2020 season.

Munster will take on London Irish in their pre-season fixture at Irish Independent Park on 13th September.
