Australia wing Luke Morahan has signed a new one-year contract with the Super Rugby team Western Force for the upcoming 2017 season.

Morahan, who has played just two Tests for the Wallabies, made his debut in 2012 against Scotland in Newcastle and he was recently called up for the home series against England, where he came in as a replacement in the 69th minute of the Melbourne Test.

The 26-year-old joined Force in 2014 following his five-year association with the Queensland Reds and has made over 65 appearances in Super Rugby.

The Force, who are languishing at the bottom of the Australasian group has managed to sign Queensland Reds' Ben Daley for the upcoming season as well. However, Force centre Kyle Godwin is expected to make a switch to the Brumbies ahead of the 2016/17 season according to reports.

Earlier, former Springboks coach Heyneke Meyer also expressed his interest in taking over the coaching role of Force following the exit of Michael Foley.

Currently, the assistant coach David Wessels has been appointed as interim coach in the absence of Foley. Force are scheduled to play the Stormers and the Brumbies on 9th and 16th respectively in the remaining fixtures of the season.
